This is my final evaluation for
media product which was a school magazine
My media product uses
conventions of real media. I examined other media products of the same type as
mine. A typical convention used was a front cover picture that used gaze
theory, so I added that to my product. Another I convention used was to add
images to display the content
My media product represents
particular social groups by displaying images of these social groups for
example, I placed an image of students playing basketball, and this represents
the social groups who are enthusiastic about sport
A educational
company might distribute my product because it is related to the education/school
industry. They may distribute in order to promote their school or to notify
members of the school about daily activities or developments happening.
My media product is directed
towards sixth formers. This is evident since most of my articles and images are
representative of the sixth formers. There aren’t enough pictures or article
topics concerning of students from other years, therefore it cant be directed
at a general audience.
I attracted my audience by using several images. The front
covers main image of a sixth former uses the gaze theory to attract the reader.
Since there is a large portion of sixth formers who are interested in sports, i
added some images of sports in order to attract those people.
